Top five skin care habits for healthy skin
One: Hydration is key
Stay hydrated from morning to night! Drinking water regularly is so vital to our entire body’s health, including our skin. Health professionals commonly recommend drinking two litres of water a day! Benefits from drinking water include improvement of skin tone, Prevention of premature aging, acne prevention, tighter skin and improving gut health which means clear skin. So, after reading that what are you waiting for ladies, get drinking!
Two: Always wash your face at night
Never go to bed without washing your face! I could go on all day about why you should wash your face before bed, but who has time for that? Instead, I’m going to give you a plethora of short reasons why you should. It clears your pores, removes oil from skin, prevents wrinkles, prevents acne, keeps your pillow makeup-free, helps to manage the PH levels of your skin, removes the build-up of dirt and oil, allows your skincare products to work more effectively and supports skin hydration.
Three: Avoid junk food
When I say avoid junk food, I don’t mean to cut out the occasional cheat meal or the glass of wine on a date night! Good skin care is all about consistency, including what you put in your body. What you eat affects your skin. If you consistently eat healthy meals, drink lots of water and eat glow-boosting foods (Like berries and vegetables) an occasional unhealthy meal won’t matter!
Four: Face masks
Use a face mask once a week! Not only do face masks give you me-time they also are great for your skin! There are thousands of different types on the market that target various skin concerns like brightening, moisturising, anti-aging etc.
Five: Consistency
Stay consistent! Like most things in life, consistency is key! Washing your face once a week will not do much for your skin compared to if you are consistently cleaning it every day. If you are regularly taking care of your skin and nurturing it, you will have visible results!
